If you ever find yourself hungry in Nashville, try Whiskey Kitchen on 12th Ave S. I promise you, that you will not be disappointed. I’m a little excited about the fact that the place I will be interning this summer, The Nashville Post, is located right next to Whiskey Kitchen.
Mom and I went there to have lunch. It’s a really cool restaurant with southern classic plates, wood-fired pizzas, pub favorites, and of course a menu complete of whiskeys, bourbons, and scotch. The atmosphere is really chic, though it’s touristy, it is still a very comfortable and cool atmosphere. There are also huge convertible windows that make you feel like you’re inside of a cool, divined, chiced-out garage. We went on a perfect, sunny, day. Though we sat inside, the sun shined right unto our table, in the most relaxing way.
I ordered the Tennessee, cheddar, bacon ale soup with a grilled cheese on the side. The soup is filled with the ingredients; Yazoo ale, sharp cheddar cheese, & applewood smoked bacon. It was mouth watering. Mom ordered a brick, oven, veggie-wrap. It was filled with fire-roasted veggies, mushrooms, white bean hummus, tomatoes, onions, spinach, artichokes, peppers, and basil. We shared each other’s plates and cleared them both clean. We both agreed that we felt full, but not a too-stuffed kind of full. It was also very fairly priced!
