Food

A Healthier Me

So since new year’s I have kind of been on this health kick. Yeah, me. Who would’ve ever thought?

The smoothie in my picture contains:

  • ice
  • a handful of blueberries
  • a handful of strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • lite nonfat vanilla greek yogurt
  • and a splash of honey

I told myself this was my year to be healthier. I haven’t eaten any fast food or drank any Coke since Jan 1. Okay, maybe I have had a cheat day or two but still, I recognize what is bad and I am trying to cut it out.

I go to the grocery store about once a week and buy all of my favorite fruit (I really like berries, bananas, and apples) and different flavors of nonfat, greek, yogurt and I make a smoothie about once a day. If I use all the fruit before the yogurt, I add some granola in it and eat it for mid-day snacks.

I also buy a few boneless chicken breasts, mushrooms, peppers and cook that at the beginning of the week and eat it for meals throughout the week. That way I remind myself I have food at home and I only go out to eat about once or twice a week.

It really helps and it saves SO much money and every penny counts for a broke, college girl like me.

I have lost about 10 pounds since Jan 1 and my body just feels better. I am more energized and happier!

The smallest changes in life can affect your everyday routine! I suggest you try something that will help you.
